Another prick. :spliff:

I've known from day 1 that Blair was disliked by many on the left, despised by the hard left, for some reason they didn't see him as a real socialist but the evidence proves he certainly was by the amount spending on education, NHS, Welfare etc went sky high.

'They' disliked his friendly manor towards business but it won over the likes of entrepreneurs like Branson & Sugar. The left see business as the enemy, profit being a dirty word, he made Labour electable again.

True, his legacy is the disastrous Iraq war, what he achieved in bringing peace to Ulster forgotten it seems.

Even at times when I suspected he was bull-shitting, I thought yer bloody good at this.

For the record, I never once voted for him but I certainly dont think he was a bad PM :biker:

An unforgivable act of selfishness imho.

I had a step son who killed himself, married with little boy with another baby on the way, a blessing in disguise that his mum had already passed so she didn't have to go through what the Speeds are going through. No note, nothing resolved at the inquest, I could speculate but I wont. The latter applies to a cousin who killed himself which in some ways was more difficult, mainly cos I was the Executor.

Should be charged & fined the cost of the case + the cost of all the emergency services + hospital cost + compensation to the waiter they dragged into incident + any loss to the restaurant, not asking too much. :biker:

This will do fook all to help compulsive gamblers, as my old granny use to say "you can only help those who want to be helped" & those who do will be the one's who seek help off their own bat.

Back in the 1960's betting shops in the main, had a drab unwelcoming appearance & weren't allowed to encourage people in or to stay if they did come in, certainly no offer of a cup of anything, that was the law at the time. Has it been over liberalised :hmmm: I think it probably has tbh.

Practically all booky adverts close with "When fun stops, STOP". Yeah, of course their being sincere

When has it ever been fun to back a loser :hmmm: 'They' know its human nature to try & get yer money back which is what a vast majority will do, they dont want you to leave the shop until you've done yer bollox.

Literally every time I walk into the betting shop I get offered a cup of tea or coffee, biscuit, cake, alawys declined, I place the bet & walk out. The only time I've ever stayed in a betting shop all day was when I worked in one & that was long before 2005 when it was liberalised.

Stirring stuff  A term coined by the communist leader apparently, they shall not pass, but they did.

I can claim a degree of absolute ignorance on the Spanish war, other than it was between 2 sides & I wouldn't have liked either tbh :biker:

This is what happens when a government doesn't have control of spending, enforced austerity to get the loan. Some of us remember this.

The moral of the story is dont let yer borrowing get out of control cos the IMF will stop lending you money if yer classed as being irresponsible/over spending:

Borrowing for Capital expenditure, good, borrowing 100 billion + for re-nationalisation, bad. I'm not suggesting we're anywhere near the 1976 situation................yet.

Yep, true, never completely understood why tbh. :dunno:

Saving all of them was rewarding failure, I''ll include Northern Rock as well.

Barclays as far as I can remember didn't accept government help but did get overseas help I think :hmmm:

Ironically, I came across this :hmmm:

Rightly or wrongly, I thought it was increasing interest rates in the USA that triggered 'toxic debt' :beglee:

Fed has them at 2% at the moment, couple more in the near future predicted but they went from approx 2 to 5% in short time leading up to 2007 which caught home buyers out :dunno:

I found most of it whooshing over my head :binky: :baseball:

I share his pain, I'd struggle to vote Tory at the moment, possibly for different reasons :hmmm:

Personally, I rate Mercer & he clearly showed disdain at Mays response to his question at PMQ's the other week:
