Poms and Europe

Postby Trampas » Sat Feb 20, 2016 10:49 pm

Yani and crew get to decide if they are in or out of the EU in June.

Will they vote yes or no?

Farage and Galloway are right.
UK needs to get out of Euro for the sake of national security

I'm one of those who fell for the con, I, along with a majority of others voted for a common market based on trade etc, & I've always resented that fact :Hi-Guy:

That was then but we are where we are & I'm bordering on the IN camp for various reasons.

The 2 names at the top should make anyone fookin shudder for a start.

I've just deleted 4 pouzar'esque paragraphs giving those various reasons but I'll leave at saying I cant see anyway the economy WONT SUFFER :biker:

The EU economy is far from out of the woods,OK, no scare story's lately but the problems are still there, those rising so called 3rd world economies are stalling & another crash could be around the corner

Even if leaving is a good idea the problem is the markets will go into meltdown (this has already been happening over the past couple of weeks as the Exit position has strengthened).

This is solely down to the economists calling out that leaving will be a disaster for the economy...thats all it takes..

I think we will vote to stay and it will be down to peoples concern over the uncertainty around the thing that matters to them most..the money in their pockets..doesn't matter whether the scaremongering is true or not that part is totally irrelevant..

My view hasn't particularly changed from my post in March but I'm seriously pissed off with this scaremongering remain tactic, so much so I'm hovering over the leave camp.

Yes, I agree the economy will suffer, I think thats unavoidable. The only thing in doubt is by how much & how long for it to recover. :hmmm:

Do I agree that we'll all be over £4K a year worse off if we leave, utter bollox :Hi-Guy:

Markets/Currency's have a history of filtering in worse case scenarios before they happen & adjust accordingly after the event.

Most companies have a base in the uk to have an eu presence. Many will fk off unless they want to tap in to our stand alone power.

This power will be fk all.

I've voted LEAVE despite the advice from some of the Remain fiso posters who suffer from extreme forms of superiority complexes who've basically labelled Leave voters as:

Thick
Numpty's
Gullible
Racist etc.

I expect to have backed a loser which is nothing new :baseball:

Anticipating a Remain to win 53 - 47% mainly due to the London Vote possibly :hmmm:

Be interesting if nissan went.

Absolutely nothing wrong with voting leave for your own, considered reasons.

That said, I do have a lot of thick, numpty, gullible, racist friends... and they are voting leave. They've spent the last week re-posting shit memes and badly formed analogies on Facebook.

They're currently scratching their heads at the Liverpool result.

Uk is out

I think some people think by voting exit that refugees and the likes will not get in.

Has boris been spotted looking for the keys to number 10 yet?

WOW  Didn't expect that result.

Gloom & doom merchants are in their element. :beglee:

Interesting times ahead, a new PM by October, for the record, I dont think it'll be Boris, Theresa May maybe :hmmm:

Labour must get rid of Corbyn to have any chance of challenging the Tory's in 2020.

There's no obvious reason to think the £ will regain much value in the near future until the divorce details are finalised. The only obvious impact for Joe Public is for inflation to rise but other than that I cant see any other impact on a day to day bases. I'm excluding foreign holidays obviously

It might be the case that not much changes. Out of the EU, but the negotiated agreements may end up quite similar and with a smooth transition. A yes or no referendum didn't cover even a fraction of the potential outcomes.

But there's enough uncertainty. If I were a UK based business servicing Europe then it would make me think twice about expanding from a UK base.

Changes in tariffs, standards or legislation are always recognised as a risk in decision making. That risk in dealing with the UK is pretty significant now.

I hope you get what you want but be careful what you wish for.

You'll get another referendum soon & personally I dont think English politicians should get involved with campaigning other than make statements about what outcome 'they' would like.

Any scaremongering should come from jocks who want to stay in the UK etc.

In truth, I wont be distraught if you go :coffee2:

It's probably a bit too early to be honest. We need you coonts to elect another couple of unfettered tory governments (or Cameron's replacement to be the bastard lovechild of Adolf and Thatcher), but at least you've got rid of a big plank in the No campaign's ... :hmmm: ...err thingy you make out of planks.

The No folks will get fed up voting for the status quo eventually and we only need to win once...yeah, yeah a bit like the fitba team. Don't worry though, we'll leave you our dossers and the PR of Scotland won't conduct any deep frying tests near the border for at least six weeks. :biker:
