TFF Tactics - given the first 8 games

Postby Devilsweep » Sun Jun 15, 2014 3:40 pm

I'm driving myself slightly nuts thinking about what to do generally given the following:

1. Only 2 clean sheets and from less than obvious teams. There have been an average of over 3 goals a game, the matches look quite open BUT has this been a co-incidence? Is the solution to go to more attacking options? Daft as this may seem but the pitches, ball and conditions all seem to be positives for goals...

2. Not many fookers could have had Robben and RVP and if they did they were likely burning transfers - forget it, write it off as an anomaly or cover it next round ?

3. If you are lucky enough to have nailed a Columbia or Mexico block do you go to another block or split - France, Argentina have got to be tempting but the "Froggies" team news is vague at best? What if you haven't landed a block yet - find the next one and the one that lands?

4. Transfers - no idea what the right strategy is given the larger budget later on and the chance of penalties and ET in knockout games. Most seem to be saying equal use of transfers through the tournament is the way to go.

5. 3rd game of the Group - gonna be some major changes to teams who will have qualified - see point 4.

Guidance and Help required

Still got some credits left, was gonna bang some in today but we had a thunderstorm in Majorca so just got pissed :drunken: managed a benzema here & there though...

Trying to pick which argies to bring in is not easy though, all 3 strikers & half teams budget gone...

Either I'm totally useless at this or folks are burning their transfers every game :OFFS:

I am thinking the same. Even if you bring in in one striker a game, you will have no trasfers left after the 2nd round of games.

And for that reason I am not sure if it is worthwhile bringing in Lukaku and Ronaldo in for their next game for one game only. I have mananged so far to hit the players with decent point hauls (Bar RVP/Robben)

I posted the same on another thread

Most starting 11s OK

Teams where I had done transfers I had bought players who scored and yet I was still a mile off the pace

I had made 1 or 2 mostly and a couple with 3 or 4 having done none the first 3 days I am going back to leaving the transfers alone mostly

130 - 10 used
126 - 9 used
119 - 10 used
113 - 7 used (Gotze to play)
113 - 11 used
113 - 8 used
112 - 10 used
108 (x3) - 7 used

Think i'm sitting 'ok' but hard to tell. Today i'm def sitting out. Will use the Germans against Ghana and USA but will sit out the Portugal game tonight. Selected Schar in every team and fired in M Pereira in every team so made a couple of bloopers. i've mainly not been chasing too many clean sheets other than France which paid off so i suspect i have ground to make up but perhaps not too much.

450+ points the target??

My thoughts exactly...would like a 1-1 between Germany and Portugal though, both of them own-goals :agree1:
